As working parents in the Dublin Latchkey organization, we were frustrated with the current preschool model. As a result, we developed a program that has affordable options that fit your family's needs.
The mission of Origins School of Learning is to provide a high quality preschool program that is affordable and flexible to meet the needs of children, families in the community. We strive to ensure that the children in our community have a safe and educational environment, which provides developmentally appropriate activities in which they can learn and grow.
In a HighScope preschool program, teachers ignite children’s interest in learning by creating an environment that encourages them to explore learning materials and interact with adults and peers. We focus on supporting early learners as they make decisions, build academic skills, develop socially and emotionally, and become part of a classroom community.

At Origins School of Learning, we believe early childhood education and experience should focus on the development of the whole child, touching on the 5 Domains of Early Childhood Development including Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Physical, and Language, along with life skills and self-esteem. We foster these through HighscopeCurriculum and Ohio Early Learning Standards. We strive to provide a high quality learning program that is affordable and flexible for our families.

We take all students ages 3 to 6. Although our curriculum is geared towards preschool, we will take half day KG students. Students will need to be at least 3 years old by the first day of school. item.
Our organization has been operating in Dublin City Schools as the before and after care program for 40 years and Jonathan Alder for 6 years. This is a new concept we have developed due to the lack of affordable and flexible options in our area. We are starting small with only two classrooms. Once enrollment is complete we will divide the students by age and developmental stage. Each classroom will have no more than 18 students and 2 teachers, with one admin onsite.
Since we are renting space at Jerome Church, we will not be able to set up the classrooms until this summer. However, the classrooms are designed for Sunday school and have a good foundation to build from.
Due to licensing and the health department, we will ask that parents provide their child's snacks and lunch.
No religion affiliation, we are an independent non-profit.
Knowing many of our family’s already have children in our elementary program, and to keep cost down to a minimum and affordable, we decided to follow the DCS calendar. However, we might have days you can add on to during those breaks if needed. At this point we will break for the summer; however, there are many summer camps for 3 year olds and up. Dublin parks and rec, Dublin Community preschool and Integrity are just a few.
It is a licensing rule to provide nap time or quiet time. We understand that this can be difficult for some children, we plan to separate our nappers from our quiet time activity kids. For those students who will be with us for a majority of the day, we will have our nap time in the afternoon.
Students will need to be potty-trained, but we do understand that there will be accidents from time to time.
At this point, we do not have our own transportation. However, if you live in the Depp Elementary school boundaries, DCS could transport to our location. We are looking into to purchasing buses.
Your tuition will count for the tax credit and/or dependent child care fsa.
